Orchid Appearances
The appearance of the orchid is perhaps the most varied in the flower world. Along with varied appearances of colour and shape, they also have bizarre pollination systems, habitats and growth systems. Orchids are perhaps the most evolutionary advanced and diverse flowers we will ever come across.
Ernst Haeckel Plate Ernst Haeckel’s 74th plate from his 1904 Kunstformen der Natur illustrates some of that wide variety of orchid appearances. |
