2012 Early Childhood Programmes
Visiting the Stevenson Discovery Centre, Weird & Wonderful, or booking an educator-led programme, is a great way to introduce young learners to Auckland Museum, exposing them to new educational experiences in a safe and stimulating environment.
Fridays are reserved for Early Childhood Education bookings for the following programmes. Self guided visits to Weird & Wonderful and other Museum galleries are welcomed at all times throughout the year during normal open hours.

Entomology for Early Learners
Term 1: 30 January – 6 April 2012
Study live and preserved specimens and investigate some of nature's smallest yet most important creatures. Enjoy and participate through songs, stories, experimentation and discovery.

Tala Pasifika
Term 2: 30 April – 11 May 2012 Term 3: 23 July – 10 August 2012 Fridays only
Tala Pasifika uses multimedia, storytelling, objects, images, movement and dance to examine aspects of Pasifika identity.

Weird & Wonderful is Auckland Museum’s award winning natural history Discovery Centre. Incorporating rich and varied collections, numerous live displays, object handling and staff facilitation W&W works superbly as either a stand-alone destination for schools or as part of a Natural History themed itinerary.
