Dinosaurs & Fossils

Investigate New Zealand’s pre-historic past.

Giants and Dinosaurs

Did Dinosaurs once live in Aotearoa, New Zealand? What can we learn about these pre-historic creatures from their fossils? We'll answer these questions and more through investigation, stories and discoveries.

Dinosaurs and fossils have a strong popular appeal for early learners. This programme capitalises on this to involve children in active exploration, to inspire them to observe and discover more about these fascinating creatures and how they evolved over time.

The Stevenson Discovery Centre, Weird and Wonderful provides a secure space to examine objects and specimens, to question and to discuss these extinct species.
