WANTED: Inquiring minds to solve a mystery at Auckland Museum – who murdered the brilliant scientist Professor Felix Splicer and how did they do it?

A poisoner is on the loose and we need you to play detective. You must solve the mystery of who murdered the brilliant scientist Felix Splicer and how they did it.

One of our four suspects committed the crime and the weapon is among hundreds of objects from our own Natural History collection – from deadly hemlock to venomous sea snails.

Adventurer and collector of poisonous plants Toxica Tully was in love with Professor Felix Splicer but he rejected her advances.  Spurned love and a working knowledge of poison is a dangerous combination – but is it deadly?

Marine biologist Alain Cousteau counted himself as a friend of the victim but the friendship may have soured when a new species of fish they discovered together was given the name “phishfingerus spliceri” and not “phishfingerus alaini”. Did a professional slight cost Splicer his life?

Professor Felix’s twin brother Dr Helix Splicer grew up sharing everything with his sibling but he may not have been ready to share the substantial inheritance they were in line for – $100 million. It wouldn’t be the first time money was the motive for murder. Nastie by name, nasty by nature. She built her reputation as an international wildlife expert but Anastasia Nastie Van Abs is the suspected head of an international poaching ring. Did Splicer uncover the truth and, if so, did the discovery cost him his life?
