Auckland Museum Institute

Membership of the Auckland Museum Institute is one way become better connected with the Museum and its exhibitions and collections through lectures and behind-the-scenes opportunities. The Institute is also called  'Friends of the Auckland Museum' as well as being Auckland Branch of the Royal Society since 1868.

Borrowing rights from the Museum Library The Institute has a special historic relationship with the Museum Library and so it is the only group with the entitlement to purchase borrowing rights. ( Special conditions apply).

Have your say Institute members may participate in the election of the Institute Council. The Institute Council, in turn, is an Electoral College for four Auckland Museum Trust Board members.
