The Museum's library contains books, periodicals, photographs, manuscripts, and other scholarly resources in printed and electronic formats. The Reading Room and Special Collections area are open Monday to Friday, 1pm to 5pm. Located on the 2nd floor.
The Armoury Information Centre The Armoury Information Centre
The Armoury Information Centre resources support the war memorial galleries, halls of memory. You can also spend time conducting in-depth research of New Zealand’s experience of war or tracing your ancestor’s military service. Located on the top floor at the front of the building.
The Natural History Information Centre The Natural History Information Centre
The Museum’s Natural History Information Centre provides resources and helpful staff for visitors to find out more about our exhibits, our natural history collections and New Zealand’s unique natural environment. We also cater to school, hobby and special interest groups who can pre-book for a focused tour. First Floor in the Origins Gallery.
Te Kakano Information Centre Te Kakano Information Centre
The vision for Te Kakano is to provide information about Auckland Museum’s Maori and Pacific collections. An important element of Te Kakano’s vision is to enhance the link for Maori and Pacific people to their cultural heritage and to underline the importance of identity for Maori and Pacific people today. Located in the west wing of the Maori Gallery.
