| The Link bus service | .jpg) The Link bus takes a loop around the central city in both directions every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday from the first bus until 7pm and every 15 minutes weekday nights and Sundays. The Link bus can be caught at any one of the following stops: Railway, Downtown, QE II Square, Mid Queen Street, Casino, Victoria Park, Ponsonby, Karangahape Road, Library, AUT, University, Hospital, Domain, Newmarket, Parnell.
The nearest stop to the Museum (5 minutes walk) is on Parnell Road outside the Parnell Community Centre, and slightly further away (15 minutes walk) at Auckland Hospital. ANZAC Day - 25 April 2008 - the link bus will be operational from 5am and Veterans travel free. |
| The Explorer Bus |  A Hop On Hop Off Auckland sightseeing tour with commentary visiting the "Big 14 Attractions" of Auckland - stops outside the Museum front entrance. | From Southern Motorway | Take the Khyber Pass off-ramp. Turn right at the traffic lights into Khyber Pass Road and continue until you reach Park Road. Turn left and continue through the first set of lights until you see signs for the Domain and Auckland Museum on your left. |
| From Northern Motorway |
Take the Gillies Avenue off-ramp and turn left into Gillies Avenue at the traffic lights. Continue until you reach Khyber Pass Road, turn right at the lights and then left when you reach Broadway. Continue until you reach Maunsell Road on your left. |
| From Western Motorway |
Follow the signs directing you to the city/port off-ramp. Turn right onto Stanley Street followed by a left into Domain Drive. Continue up Domain Drive. The Museum is directly ahead. |
| From City, west of the Museum | Take Customs Street East past Britomart Place. At the lights follow the Beach Road sign and continue until you reach the lights at the intersection under the railway bridge. Turn right into Stanley Street and then left into Domain Drive. The Museum will be on your right. |
| From Eastern Suburbs | Take Remuera Road, continue until you reach Newmarket. Turn right into Broadway and continue along until you see signs for the Museum. Turn left into Maunsell Road. |
