Getting Here
Work on Park Road Domain Drive Entrance from Thursday 2 July 2009
Auckland City Council have advised that due to city works the Grafton Road entrance to Domain Drive will be closed to incoming traffic. This work will take approximately two weeks and is weather dependant. Vehicles are advised to please follow the detour signs.
Auckland Museum can be easily reached from any part of the city, by car or public transport.
The Museum is close to the motorways and the city centre and in easy walking distance from the popular shopping and cafe areas of Parnell Village and Newmarket.
By car
Less than five minutes from Auckland city centre. Free Parking for up to three hours, along with disabled spaces and an underground carpark, is available.

The bright green, environmentally friendly LINK bus is one of the smartest ways to get around Auckland's inner city. With one affordable price of $1.60, the LINK bus will take you to Newmarket, Parnell, Queen Street, Ponsonby, Karangahape Road, Auckland Hospital and everywhere in between, every ten to 15 minutes from 6am and 11.30pm.
The nearest stop to the Museum (5 minutes walk) is on Parnell Road outside the Parnell Community Centre, and slightly further away (15 minutes walk) at Auckland Hospital.
ANZAC Day - 25 April 2009 - the LINK bus will be operational from 5am and Veterans travel free.

The Explorer Bus
