Institute MembershipJoin the Auckland Museum Institute and enjoy the benefits and advantages of membership to an organisation that has been supporting Auckland Museum for over 140 years. The Institute operates the Friends of Auckland Museum and has been the Auckland Branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand since1868 . These partnerships provide rich opportunities to participate in Museum life, and to hear from excellent local and international speakers on a broad range of topics. In addition to lectures, we organise field trips, family events and behind-the-scenes opportunities. Members receive early notification of Museum, Institute and Royal Society events via regular email updates and offers, enabling preferential and discounted booking.
Once your application has been processed, your start-up pack will be sent to you. This contains the Museum Seasonal Guide, your membership card and your Members Lounge access card. The Auckland Museum Institute operates Friends of the Auckland Museum®. The Institute is a charitable entity founded in 1867 to inspire interest in science, literature and history, and is the Auckland Branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand. It's elected council has the right to appoint four members of the Auckland Museum Trust Board. |
