Step inside this life-sized video game

Have you ever thought what it would be like to evolve from a protozoa to a marine organism to an animal to a human? Dare to find out when you step inside Metazoa – an extraordinary life-sized interactive video game. Wearing an animal hat that responds to digital sensors in the gallery you’ll create playful images and trigger unexpected sounds as you evolve through a series of forms... and maybe back again.

This school holiday fun continues at Auckland Museum when kids get a first-hand experience of evolution. An incredible journey through changing worlds gives game players the opportunity to morph their way through different life forms from the earliest forms of life 500 million years ago to today.

Metazoa is part of the Auckland Museum’s Summer Season, which this season highlights the evolution of not only animals but the planet we live in also; from Charles Darwin’s theories through to volcanic activity and Gondwana –our prehistoric supercontinent.

Get the chance to explore the evolving and amazing world of METAZOA for children of all ages
