Early childhood

Visiting the Stevenson Discovery Centre is a great way to introduce toddlers to Auckland Museum, exposing them to new educational experiences in a safe and stimulating environment.

There are two choices of venue within the Stevenson Discovery Centre, both of which offer Early Childhood groups the chance to explore and learn ‘hands-on’ and at their own pace.

Trained facilitators help the accompanying adults enjoy the experience with the kids in their care.

Treasures & Tales

Treasures & Tales will be closed from early October 2007 until mid 2008 for a major redevelopment. In Treasures & Tales children can explore our cultural diversity through activities such as playing musical instruments or dressing up, while surrounded by treasures from all over the world.

Weird & Wonderful

Weird & Wonderful focuses on natural history, giving children the chance to get close to live creatures such as insects and native lizards, while discovering for themselves the diversity of the natural world.
