Dance Cards

Listen to my story

This collection of dance cards from the 1920’s was donated to the Auckland Museum's Library collections. They complement the beautiful ball gowns from the Applied Arts collection from the same era . Each card’s value is attributed by its provenance. What is the meaning of provenance you ask? It is the history of the ownership of an object, especially when documented or authenticated.
