Adult Education

Auckland Museum understands the importance of education beyond your schools years and provides programming for adult, tertiary and community education groups.

We do suggest that adult education groups book ahead of time in order to benefit from special entry charges.

The Museum’s education focus extends to teacher training and the development of education resources for students and teachers. If you are a Primary, Secondary or EEC trainee group, please contact the Education Bookings Officer on 09 306 7040 or schools@aucklandmuseum.com. We suggest you browse the Teacher Resource section of this website for material suitable to your needs.

Auckland Museum adopted a formal Lifelong Learning Policy at the end of 2005. It underpins all the education services and visitor programmes, but also stresses the learning and development offered to staff and the many volunteers who assist with the running of Auckland War Memorial Museum.

New arrivals to New Zealand often find it useful to have our visitor guides in languages other than English to help make the surroundings a little more familiar. Currently we have visitor guides in German, French, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Spanish.
