Word UpThe stories I could tell! I’m broken down and stored away these days, but once I was state of the art. They called me the Improved Columbian Press when I was made in England in 1878. Can you see that I was beautifully decorated as well as highly efficient? Those were the days. None of that mass-produced plastic PC nonsense. I was made by and for craftsmen. Millions of words passed through me over the years, information and ink were my lifeblood. And now I’m stripped down, disemboweled, past my use-by date. A museum piece for the information age. Think of me when you’re next at your computer – technology comes and goes, but communication never dies.
