Te Kakano provides visitors with electronic access to information regarding the Museum’s extensive Maori and Pacific collections. It seeks to strengthen the link between Maori and Pacific people and their cultural heritage. ![]() NATURAL HISTORY INFORMATION CENTREThe Museum’s Natural History Information Centre can be found in the Origins Gallery, on the first floor. The centre provides the visitor with the opportunity to find out more about the Museum’s natural history exhibits, collections and databases as well as New Zealand’s unique natural environment. ![]() PICTORIAL COLLECTIONAlthough mostly artefacts of European origins, the Museum's pictorial and manuscript collections are often treasured by Maori for the information they contain and because they capture the presence of ancestors who have passed on. ![]() THE ARMOURY INFORMATION CENTREThe Armoury is the Museum's military information centre, providing a rich resource for the study of New Zealand’s military history. You can spend time conducting in-depth research of New Zealand’s experience of war or tracing your ancestor’s military service.
