EducationAuckland Museum is committed to making Museum collections accessible to schools and early childhood groups. Our services to schools include a range of programmes centred on galleries and linking to relevant curriculum areas. Centred on our gallery spaces and exhibitions, the Museum′s life-long learning programme has been developed for all age groups. The Stevenson Discovery Centre is a wonderful starting point for younger members of our community. For school students and adult education groups there are excellent opportunities for digging deeper into the accumulated wealth of knowledge held by the Museum assisted by the Information Centres. The Museum educational focus also extends to teacher training and the development of quality resource materials for both student and teacher. More than 60,000 students and teachers benefit annually from these services, which are funded jointly by Auckland Museum and the Ministry of Education through their Learning Experiences Outside The Classroom (LEOTC) programme.
