Wet Weather Arrangements

The Dawn Service will proceed even in inclement weather - please come prepared.

General Information

Large numbers are expected, general public should arrive by 5.30 am.

It is suggested you wear warm clothing and bring a torch.

Programmes: free on arrival

Following the Public Commemorative Service, visitors are invited to place wreaths, flowers and poppies on the Cenotaph.

Poppies will be on sale after the dawn service.

First Aid services will be available.

Buses 

On ANZAC Day, the LINK Bus will run from 5am, clockwise and anticlockwise every 15 minutes, in order to transport people to the Auckland War Memorial Museum for the Dawn Service.

FREE * Bus travel for Veterans on ANZAC Day
*Veterans who show their SuperGold Card, Veteran's SuperGold card or RSA membership badge to the driver will be able to travel for free all day on any of the buses listed below:

The LINK Bus will follow its usual route and those who are attending the Dawn Service can alight at Auckland Hospital on the north side of the Domain, or on Parnell Road outside the Foundation for the Blind on the south side of the Domain.

Parking Restrictions

Parking restrictions implemented from 4am until 1pm on 25 April 2010.

Parking restrictions on Football Road, The Crescent, Maunsell Road Extension, Wintergarden Road, Cenotaph Road, Museum Circuit.

Parking

Public parking available on the sportsfields

The public will be asked for use the ramps provided.  Mobility parking on The Crescent and Maunsell Road Extension.  Mobility parking permit holders only.

Road Closures

Lovers Lane, Cenotaph Road, Football Road and The Crescent shall be closed from 4am until 1pm on 25 April 2010.

There will be advisory signage on Cenotaph advising road closure details and parking restrictions.

Museum Shops

Refreshments & Food

Columbus Cafe in the Atrium will open following the dawn service at noon and remain open all day.

Event Centre

The events centre will be open to the public from Midday-5pm.  Under the elegant copper dome on the roof of the Auckland Museum sits the Lion Foundation Event Centre.  The circular glazed space offers panoramic views across Auckland.
