World on Your Plate: Brazilian

A Feast for the Senses!

Saturday 28 August, 2010

Saturday's World on Your Plate: Brazilian was a feast for both the audience's taste buds and their eyes. Creative and authentic performances, live music, skilful artists and informative media were some of the features of this day.

Brazilian cuisine boasts a breadth of influences, including Amerindian, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, German, Arab, African and Japanese. The distinct contribution of each is still apparent in Brazilian dishes today. We joined Chef Jaqueline Maciel from Savour and Devour as she prepared peixe moqueado (fish), acarajé tradicional (fried shrimp and bean savouries) and sagu (a sweet).
