World on Your Plate: Thai

A Celebration of Thai Cuisine & Culture

Saturday 11 September, 2010

This weekend Thai Culture NZ entertained visitors with dance and music, fruit and vegetable carving and shared an abundance of food - the atrium has never seen so much colour! Thai Culture NZ also cooked a variety of Siamese cuisine, followed by tastings. There were also special performances, including the ranaht and ungaloong string and bamboo instruments, and dancers in traditional attire.

Blog Recipe for Laab Setthee

Thai community leader Maneeka Campbell prepared a classic Thai dish for Kai to Pie. A key ingredient is the ground roasted rice, which Maneeka says adds a subtle texture and flavour. Traditionally eaten as a snack or part of a main course, Laab Setthee is best served with plenty of fresh vegetables. See the recipe on the Kai to Pie blog »
