World of Wearable Arts (WOW)

Progress student understanding of Characteristics of Technology, Technological Products and Technological Modelling across levels 1-3 of The New Zealand Curriculum.

The World of WearableArt™ touring exhibition Off the Wall showcases 30 garments from previous WOW® competitions and is showing at Auckland War Memorial Museum in February & March 2013.

Self directed school tours of the exhibition are available. An online teaching resource will soon be available.  It will compliment the World of WearableArt™ touring exhibition Off the Wall which showcases 30 garments from previous WOW® competitions.

The resource provides teachers with a rich variety of materials to support the teaching of Technology, and could provide additional support for students as they undertake technological practice to develop their own piece of wearable art.

It could also provide an inspirational look into the boundaries of art and technology to develop student understanding related to the Technological Knowledge and/or Nature of Technology strands.
