Getting Here & Parking
Auckland Museum can be easily reached from any part of the city, by car or public transport.
The Museum is close to the motorways and the city centre and in easy walking distance from the popular shopping and cafe areas of Parnell Village and Newmarket.

The Explorer bus
A Hop On Hop Off Auckland sightseeing tour with commentary visiting the "Big 14 Attractions" of Auckland - stops outside the Museum front entrance. Buses leave every 30 minutes from the Ferry Building, end of Queen Street (hourly in Winter). Motel pick-up number: 0800 439 756 or 0800 4 EXPLORER.

A limited number of disabled parking spaces are located in the front of the Museum and at the Atrium Entrance. Paid disabled parking is available in the Museum carpark. A wheelchair ramp is located at the two main entrances. Also see Disability Access.
This car park is under CCTV and security surveillance. Entry from Maunsell Road which is the Newmarket side of the Domain. The car park pay station accepts VISA, MasterCard, EFTPOS and cash up to $20 notes.

In by 9am and out by 6.30 pm. One entry and one exit per day allowed. Prepay by 9am at the pay station in the stairwell.
From 5pm until carpark closes.

- Park your vehicle and take the ticket with you.
- Pay at the machines located in the P1 and P2 lobbies immediately before returning to your vehicle.
- Insert the validated/paid ticket into the exit machine.
- Lost ticket is chargeable on the 5 hours plus rate.
- Do not park in reserved spaces.
