Auckland Museum Institute

The Auckland Museum Institute was established in 1867 and operates the Friends of the Auckland Museum®.

As well as being a Museum membership body, the Institute organises a programme of lectures, discussions, field trips and other events, and appoints four members of the Museum Trust Board.  It is the Auckland Branch of the Royal Society of New Zealand providing the Museum, Museum Friends and the public access to both local and international RSNZ keynote speakers.
