Although the men and women who served their country are long gone, their wartime relics serve as a reminder of their deeds. You may have never heard of a “buck-shee parcel”, but to a soldier on the frontline it was the modern-day equivalent of a ‘goodie bag’, containing such delights as a tin of tongue and cigarettes.

More familiar are the entrenching tools used to dig out the trenches and the medals bestowed for heroic feats.
