Auckland Museum is pleased to share the news that Australian Tim Hart will join the Museum as Director of Public Experience. Tim was most recently Director Public Engagement at Museums Victoria* in Melbourne, where he has been leading a multitude of innovative, high quality experiences and programmes for local, national and international audiences online, onsite and offsite.
Tim has been part of the strategic team behind some of the most iconic and large-scale programming in Australia, including a series of extremely successful international touring exhibitions including, Pompeii, Titanic, Tutankhamun, and Jurassic World each attracting an average of over 300,000 visitors each.
Tim has served on the executive teams at the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (Powerhouse) and Museums Victoria, has won numerous national and international awards, and will be a welcome addition to Auckland’s vibrant cultural sector. Tim is a seasoned senior leader with over 25 years’ experience in the Australian GLAM sector and more than a decade’s executive leadership experience with a proven track record of successful digital innovation, research and creativity.
