Colourful characters come to life in a Night at Auckland Museum

Tuesday, 12 May 2009

As the film Night at the Museum 2 prepares to hit cinemas, Auckland Museum unveils its own exciting Night at Auckland Museum.

On Sunday evenings from 17 May, families can discover what happens inside the museum when its doors close for the night. While you might not meet Ben Stiller, star of Night at the Museum 2, the colourful characters that spring to life include a soldier, a scientist, a wahine toa, the museum’s founder, a nurse, an Egyptian princess, a Rarotongan musician and even life-sized dinosaurs.

Just like Stiller’s character Larry Daley, arm yourself with a torch and explore the darkened corridors of the museum and discover how our lively ‘exhibits’ get along, or don’t as the case may be. Race to decorate a sarcophagus, meet a portrait that won’t keep quiet, discover an erupting volcano and listen to live music all at Night at Auckland Museum.

A coffee cart will be selling food and drinks and there will be plenty of hands-on activities to keep everyone entertained.
