Akatautau. Tassels. Twenty-one tassels. The tassels are made of kiriau (strips of hibiscus fibre) threaded through ua puka seeds (Lantern tree/Hernandia seeds). The kiriau (hibiscus fires) of ten of the akatautau (tassels) are dyed-red. Eleven of the akatautau (tassels) are dyed-blue.
