Fragment, Yame ni Matau (adze). Yame ni Matau (the tongue of the adze), is carved from vatu (stone), and is grey in colour, with a circular cross-section. The Yame ni Matau has a mildly sharp cutting edge, with a concave bevel surface, and with a low to moderate level polish all over.
