Sedre ni Waiwai. Oil dish, or a priest's yaqona (kava) dish. The Sedre ni Waiwai is carved from kau (wood) into an ovoid shape with a two-pronged handle extending out from one side of the dish. Damage to the kau is visible at the top end. On the underside of the dish and liga ni sedre (handle of dish) are short, pointed yava (legs) carved from the wood as supports. The bowl is decoratively carved on the underside of the bowl with grooves parallel to each other. Light-coloured marks across the inside of bowl. The Sedre ni Waiwai is dark in colour with glossy patina.
