Sedre ni Waiwai

Sedre ni Waiwai (oil dish). Dish used for waiwai (coconut oil) or yaqona (kava). Carved from wood (kau). Shallow dish, in the shape of a flying bird, with yava i va (four legs) underside of dish. There is a bito (lug), with a hole through it, near edge underside of dish. Geometric incisions decorate the rim of the edge. Brown in colour.
