Te reeree. Sword set with shark's teeth. The blade and hilt of this rere (sword) are carved from wood. The blade is carved to a pointed apex and is curved in profile. A raised ridge runs down the centre of the blade. The hilt is rectangular in shape and cross section. A groove is carved along each of the long edges of the blade with drilled perforated holes in place also. Eight wi n bakoa (shark's teeth) having first been perforated at their base are fitted into the grooves of the blade in alignment with the blade's perforated holes. Te kora (coconut sennit) lashes each wi n bakoa securely to the blade through the perforated holes. The rere is medium brown in overall colour, while the wi n bakoa are off-white in colour.
