Kete
Kete. Bag. For carrying personal items. Kete is woven from natural coloured rauara (pandanus leaf) strips with dyed-black apuraka (giant swamp taro) akamanea (decoration). Rectangular in shape. The kete has a patara (serrated rim). Overlaid dyed-black apuraka strips form geometric patterns consisting of four horizontal rows of tapuae mokora (horizontal line of continuous natural-coloured triangles) divided by lines of check. Horizontal lines of punarua (natural-coloured squares standing on one corner) are placed above and below the tapuae mokora patterns. Tatai (handle) is broken.
