Mahiole

Mahiole. Helmet. A crescent shaped helmet base with indentations for the ears, and a crest ridge through centre that tapers to a rounded point at the front. Made from the aerial roots of the 'ie'ie (Freycinetia Arborea), a woody climber endemic to the Pacific Islands. There are no feathers present.
