Penu. Stone pounder. This penu (pounder) has been worked and smoothed from ofa'i (stone). It is heavy, with an ovoid base and convex pounding surface. The shaft of the penu is round in section though flares out towards the base. The penu is topped with a transverse grip which is triangular in section. The penu is grey in colour. A faded red sticker is adhered to one side.
