    This quilt was probably brought to New Zealand by the donor’s family and was presented to the Museum with a bag of patchwork pieces, together with other items of family clothing and toys. It uses a traditional English template paper pattern technique. The hexagonal grandmother’s garden pattern, popular in England from the late 18th century, had a renaissance in the 1920s-30s when published by many pattern companies.
