    Fishing lure (English)

  • Description

    Pā. Trolling lure. This is a composite trolling lure. The shank is shaped from tifa (pearl shell) yellow in colour and is rectangular in shape. It is curved in profile. A small perforation is made at the top hinge segment of the shank for fishing line to be thread through. Finely produced kafa (3-ply coconut sennit) is also attached. A sharpened lure point made with tuafonu (turtle shell) is lashed to the base of the shank with cotton fibre lashing.
