    outfit, cloak and headpiece, Runner Up for 'The Great New Zealand Cloak' Competition, 1991, organised by Pamela Elliott of Compendium Gallery, Auckland.

    Cloak is purple, made up of multiple panels - two front panels with multi-coloured ribbon embroidery, feathers, and faux fur "tails" attached to bottom edge, side panels with woven tartan design and stencilled hibiscus, fish, and bees, and three hand-painted crushed silk panels with wire shaping at ends. Purple and white organdy panels ("wings") extend from shoulders of cloak with curved wire shaping, with handpainted birds beneath. Shoulder and back panel of cloak made up of silk and velvet appliqued patches with border of faux fur. Cloak is fastened at front centre with one small spherical pink button and a large gold coloured button with paua centre, with braided cords hanging below.

    Headpiece is made of crushed silk, with two curved woven panels at front and large semi-circular organdy attachment extending backwards.
