  • Description

    Te ili. Fan. This ili consists of a woven blade attached to a wooden handle. The blade of this ili is woven with kaumoe (young coconut leaf) of natural colour in a spade shape. It has decorative accenting overlay of bright pink vulu (wool) attached along the edges. There is additional blue vulu visible at the apex of the blade, as well as areas of openwork and black-dyed fibre. The weaving commencement is visible at the centre of the blade.

    The blade is attached to the wooden handle with lashing of kafa (3-ply coconut sennit) overlaid with black-dyed plant fibre.
