    Cream organdie wedding dress (descriptive name)

  • Description

    Cream organdie two-piece wedding dress, circa 1911. Consisting of a bodice and skirt with the underskirt missing. The bodice has a low front and wide tucked V with braiding down the front and the back. It has a back fastening. The bodice has a very high neckline, long sleeves and swathed tight belt which are all decorated with taffeta edges and appliqué. The bodice is lined and boned. The skirt is gored with 8 panels with extra fullness at the back to form a small train.

    The skirt is fitted over the hips. The hem line is decorated with deep scalloped edging of taffeta and decorative taffeta corded motifs.
