  • Description

    Kali. Headrest. A large and heavy kali shaped like a rounded anvil, pointed at each end, sits atop two supports of kau (wood) which are attached by being slotted into joins in the main body of the rest. Each support is pyramid shaped with a rectangular base, notched along their sides. The top of the kali shows the joins of the supports below with a metal nail in each of these tops. Dark brown in colour. "TABUWA" incised to lower side of the kali in large capital letters.

    Areas of insect borer visible. Areas of wear and scratching.
