    Spear club (English)

  • Description

    Korare. Spear club. Carved from a single piece of wood. Paddle-shaped blade and pointed at the tip. There are four chevron motifs with their apices pointing upwards. One one side of the korare, near the centre of the blade are two incised "X" motifs vertically placed. On the opposite side, near the centre of the blade are three chevrons with their apices pointing upwards.

    Near the tip of the blade are three chevron motifs, more deeply incised into the wood, with their apices pointing downwards. Rounded butt-end with visible wear on the end. Brown in colour.
