  • Description
    flask, ceramic. Ellipsoid body, flat base. Neck is 60mm long with a handle from the rear of the neck to back of body. Handmade. Upper half of vessel represents some carnivorous animal (jaguar?). There is sculpted snarling head attached to front of vessel with incised lines on face and prominent teeth. One ear is missing. Legs depicted in low relief against body of vessel. Decoration of added dots, 2-3mm in diameter, on upper part of body, limbs, head and neck. All other areas are burnished. A loop at rear end of ellipsoid, forms a small handle. Peru
