    Konebachi (Japanese)

  • Description

    stoneware with Sancai (three colour) glaze. This is a traditional bowl from the Seto area for the purpose of mixing flours and kneading dough. The three colour glaze is an adaptation from Chinese T’ang wares – the San-Ts’ai earthenware - lead glazed with oxide additions which produced the green and brown colouring on a cream coloured base.
