    Rowland Towle left New Zealand on 12th June 1917 with the 27th Reinforcements Specialists Company, Machine-Gun Section

    He brought back to New Zealand a collection of items including including German dog tags; haversack, German mug, machine gun protractors, sandbag samples, pair of spurs, German shoulder straps, web gear, whistle, 2 ash trays, a mug, badges, money belt, NZ Onward badge, 16th Waikato badge, pair of 16th Reinforcement badges, German belt buckle, kangaroo corkscrew; other badges (WW3296-W3310)
