  • Description

    Pareu ura tatua vaevae. Leg band. Costume that is tied below the knees and worn at festivals and dances. Made from rito (young coconut leaf). Bundles of rito are wrapped and knotted around a single two-ply twisted cotton cord. The rito is dyed-green and dyed-red. The upper half of the leg band is dyed-green and the lower half is dyed red.
