    The 'Durban Castle' left Taranto, Italy on 27 December 1945 and arrived in Wellington on 27 January 1946, via Port Said, Suez Canal, Port Tewfik, Aden, Fremantle and Melbourne.
    The ship carried Eleventh Reinforcements of the 2nd NZ Expeditionary Force back home, as well as RNZAF personnel and wives and children of NZ servicemen. From Melbourne about 150 NZ naval, air force and army personnel joined the last stage to Wellington.
