Architectural plans and drawings by Grierson Aimer and Draffin. Including the 1921 competition drawings and plans, detailed plans for construction, and concept drawings and plans for the interior and exterior of the Museum. Drawings include the classical and Maori motifs used throughout the building, the Hall of Memories, and the Cenotaph.

Hugh C. Grierson; Kenneth W. Aimer and M. Keith Draffin were the architects of the 1929 building. In 1922 they won the competition to build the new Museum. The Hansford and Mills Construction Company won the contract for construction, and in 1924 building began, with the official opening on November 28 1929.
