    Contains photocopied material. Item 1 -- Photocopy of the first letter sent by pigeon from Charles Ranson, Manager, Northern Steamship Company, Auckland, to Charles E. [Edward] Werner, Great Barrier, dated 18 March 1897. Includes typescript copy. [Note: The original is held at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Ref: GH006191]

    Item 2 -- Pigeongram (photocopy) from Charles E. [Edward] Werner, Whangapara, to Arthur H. Nathan, dated 22 June 1901. (holograph; 1 leaf)

    Item 3 -- A recollection (photocopy) of the early days of the Barrier by E.L.K. (holograph; 1 leaf)

    Item 4 -- Partial letter (photocopy) from [E. Le Roy] to Flinn Brothers. Includes typed transcript of original in full.
