    A plate for Henry Richard Evans QSM. Born at Wellington, 31 October 1912. Educated at Wellington College, Waitaki Boys' High School, Victoria University College. Managing Director. O.T. Evans & Co Ltd., 1938-69 (lingerie manufacturers, later sold to Lane Walker Rudkin). WWII, served in NZ Army, 22 Battalion and 9 Brigade. Married Doreen Margaret Jacobsen in Sydney, 1965. Chairman Wellington Cancer Society, Wellington City Mission, co-founder Mary Potter Hospice. Awarded QSM 1983 for services to the Cancer Society of Wellington and Wellington City Mission. Died at Wellington, 1 May 1997.
