Pulman family - Letters, 1861 - 1881
Description: Photocopied typed transcripts of family letters (30 items) to George and Elizabeth Pulman, mainly from members of their family in England. Three letters appear to be from friends; there is also a letter from Sir George Grey to George Pulman, thanking him for "the very beautiful speciman [sic] of illumination", dated 18 November 1863; letter from the Commissariat, Princes Street, Auckland, offering 225 pounds for a property in Grafton Road, dated 1 February 1867; letters pertaining to drawings of Blake paintings (10 items); Hickson letters (2 items); and poem titled "The Emigrant ship". George Pulman died in 1871, and his wife Elizabeth remarried in 1875 to John Blackman. Two of the letters are addressed to John Blackman, and one to Mr and Mrs Blackman.
