“Both Wendy and Paul have made valuable contributions to the strategic oversight of the museum, and on behalf of the Board I extend them my sincere thanks for their efforts and commitment.” Dr Randall also welcomed the appointment of two new board members, Howard Small and Brian Corban, for two year terms. “This is an exciting period for the museum and we look forward to Howard and Brian bringing their skills and experience.” Howard Small is a company director, and was Managing Director (Australia & New Zealand) of Ingersoll Rand Climate Solutions from 1992 till 2011. He has been a Manukau Institute of Technology Council member since 2007 and a MOTAT director since October 2011. Brian Corban was made a Companion of the NZ Order of Merit in April 2009 for services to the community. Admitted to the Waitakere Business Hall of Fame in 2005, Brian has served on the boards of a wide range of companies and community organisations at a local, regional and national level. He is a former chairman of Genesis Power and Radio New Zealand. The changes to the Auckland War Memorial Museum Board take effect on 15 October 2012. Current board members John McIntyre and Peter Hays have been reappointed for another two years.
