Recent NewsPublic invited to attend Armistice Day commemorations at Auckland Museum with Prince Charles & Duchess of Cornwall in attendanceDate: 6 November 2012 Falling on Remembrance Sunday this year, the 94th Armistice Day commemorations will be marked with a full service on the Court of Honour in front of Auckland War Memorial Museum.The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will attend the Armistice Day service this Sunday (11 November) on their second day in New Zealand.
Other dignitaries attending the commemorative service include Prime Minister John Key and Auckland Mayor Len Brown, who will both give an address.
Following the prayers during the service Prince Charles will lead the laying of the wreaths.
The 45-minute service will conclude with the national anthems ‘God Save the Queen’ and ‘God Defend New Zealand’, followed by a blessing.
The public service is open to all those wishing to attend. Attendees are asked to be seated by 10.45am for the 11am service.
In a private event after the service at the museum, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will also meet with a group of New Zealand veterans.

Auckland’s Holy Trinity Cathedral Choir will lead the hymns during the service.
Auckland Girls’ Choir will perform in Auckland Museum’s WWI Hall of Memories at 1pm and 2pm on Armistice Day.
